I have been a Governor since 2009, first as a Parent Governor and now as a Co-opted Governor. I was appointed as Vice Chair in September 2013. and Chair of Governors in 2018. My elder daughter, Eleanor, was a pupil at Barrowby from 2006 - 2013 and my younger daughter, Elizabeth, was a pupil here from 2009-2016.
I have lived in Barrowby for 20 years, and all 3 of my children attended the school. As a parent I volunteered in school, became Treasurer of FOBS, and a Parent Governor. I am now a Foundation Governor, nominated by the PCC of All Saints Church, of which I am a member.
I stood down as chair in September 2018, but remain fully committed to supporting the school and Governing Body.
I am in my fifth year as a Governor of Barrowby School, first as a parent governor and latterly as a Co Opted Governor. My daughter was a pupil here until 2017 and now attends Kesteven & Grantham Girls School. My son is currently in year 5. I have a varied and successful management career which I believe equips me in my role as Governor, providing a challenging, fair and balanced opinion within the Governing body.
I have experience in Team Leadership and Operational Management, Financial Planning and Project Management and hope I can assist the team to deliver the best for our school and children.
I have lived in Barrowby for 27 years, and both my children attended Barrowby School. I have been a Foundation Governor here for over 24 years, and working at the school for over 20 years, before retiring at the end of 2016. It has been a privilege to be part of the team that has resulted in our outstanding school throughout those years.
From January 2017, I have also taken on the role of Bishop's Visitor to the school, an appointment by Lincoln Diocese to provide additional support to our church school.
I am also a minister at Barrowby Church, and very much value the opportunities this provides to strengthen the links between our church, and our church school.
I have two children at Barrowby, Oliver 7 and Isabelle 5. My experience lies in education and am currently in my 10th year as a primary school teacher. I have knowledge of assessing and analysing data, ensuring that children are progressing well within their own personal education.
My current role requires me to teach physical education and therefore monitor the spending of the sports premium funding, maintaining value for money.
I have two children at Barrowby School, Jack (6) and Grace (4) as well as Max who will turn 1 in June 2019.
I have lived in Grantham for over 15 years and have been involved with many local projects through my role at Grantham Round Table and previously, being on the Board at Grantham Museum. I am a director at Duncan & Toplis, a local accountancy practice and I look to bring financial expertise to my role as Governor.
