SEND

At Barrowby CE Primary School, we have a considered and effective approach for meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities and we are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of needs, make the best possible progress in school.

As a school we deliver an ambitious curriculum enabling all learners to develop detailed knowledge and skills, through making our curriculum accessible for all including those with disabilities or special educational needs. For more information on how we do this, please read our Accessibility Policy and view all of our available information surrounding our curriculum through the below link.

The Local Offer is part of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) reforms from the Children and Families Act 2014 and is for children and young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and their families.

There are two main purposes for the Local Offer:

  • to improve information about services and provision available for families, children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and to make it easier for all families to find this information by making it available in one place.
  • that by working directly with families, children and young people on developing the Local Offer, Local Authorities and Health partners can improve provision.

Complaints

Arrangements for SEN children follow the same procedure as that outlined in our Complaints Policy. This is also mentioned within our SEND Policy amongst other guidance and information.

Below you will find Lincolnshire's High Needs Strategy for Lincolnshire 2021-23. This strategy sets out our aims over the next three years to make sure those children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Lincolnshire are helped to thrive in school and in life.
