Monday 30th March

Miss Kirk

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

I have put some star guides and constellation maps in the ‘Try this Today’ section. My challenge to you is to wait until it gets dark and see if you can spot any of the constellations in the sky! Try and think where the best spot in your house or garden is to go stargazing! Think about why that area is the best and why other areas might not be so good.

If the weather isn’t very good, just see which stars you can spot through a window, or even see which constellations you can find on the online planetarium! Can you name any?

I’ll post some photos of me stargazing later on tonight! If you get some stargazing done, send an email  to enquires@barrowby.lincs.sch.uk with what you saw in the sky, or what you’ve found out about stargazing! I look forward to hearing from you!

Friday 27th March

Miss Kirk

Hi guys! Miss Kirk here! Hope you are all keeping safe and well! I’m missing you all, so make sure if you get up to anything exciting at home to email it into school so I can see!

As you know, I recently moved house so I’m making use of my time now to try and make my garden pretty! Great minds think alike, and just like Miss Swatton, I’ve been planting some Beebombs in my garden! I’ve also planted lots of other seeds to try and make the garden nice and pretty and hopefully attract some wildlife! I’ve even put up a little house for them. Hopefully my flowers will grow and I’ll get some little bee friends in my garden—I’ll keep you posted!

See if you can get out in your gardens today! Whether it is to do some gardening, to do your daily exercise or even just to sit outside to do some work! Let us know what you get up to!

Friday 27th March

Miss Swatton

Hello everyone! Miss Swatton here! Today I’ve been out in my garden bright and early and planted a ‘Beebomb’ which is basically 18 species of wildflower seeds which the bees LOVE! I would like to set you a nature themed challenge! I have added a ‘scavenger hunt’ into the 'Try This Today' section on our class page of loads of different creatures and plants we can see in the outdoors. Why not take it with you on your piece of daily exercise? Or have a look out the windows in your house and see what you can spot! Give yourself 2 points for each item you find and see how many points you can score! Compete with me and let’s see who wins!

Email me your score to enquiries@barrowby.lincs.sch.uk! Good Luck!
