Today we mark the 75th Anniversay of VE day. If school had been open to all this would have been a ‘special bank holiday’ to commemorate this event. As it is, school is closed for the majority of pupils. We are isolated, not able to be with friends and family. Nevertheless, we ‘make do and mend’ and keep going.
Yesterday, when on my daily walk I came across many different ways that members of my local community are marking this day. There were poppy displays, flags strewn from windows and along fences as well as displays in windows.
However, you intend to spend this day, remember when this is all over, in the words of Dame Vera Lynne, “We’ll meet again.” Enjoy your Bank Holiday.
