We currently have three vacancies at Barrowby (C of E) Primary School:

  • Cleaner
  • Midday Supervisory Assistant
  • Teaching Assistant 1:1

Cleaner
(15 hours / week, Permanent Contract)

(Actual working hours to be agreed, will be 3 hours between 3 and 7pm, Monday through Friday)

 

We are seeking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and flexible cleaner, who is hardworking and energetic, and who has a good sense of humour and fun. 
 
You will join a successful, supportive and friendly team of professionals in a very good school with an excellent ethos for learning. We achieve high standards in academic and personal development and our children are happy, well-motivated and enthusiastic learners.  

 

Duties include: 

  • To be responsible for the cleaning of a specified area in accordance with County Council’s current specification to achieve County standards. 

  • To safely store cleaning materials and equipment. 

  • To report to the immediate supervisor (or other designated person) any problems relating to cleaning equipment and materials. 

  • To be a key holder for the school premises where it is considered necessary by the Headteacher. 

  • To carry out wet work duties at the end of the day. 

 

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and other recruitment checks.

Midday Supervisory Assistant

We are seeking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and flexible mid-day supervisory assistant, who is hardworking and energetic, and who has a good sense of humour and fun.

You will join a successful, supportive and friendly team of professionals in a very good school with an excellent ethos for learning. We achieve high standards in academic and personal development and our children are happy, well-motivated and enthusiastic learners.

 

Duties include:

  • Prepare rooms for dining, including setting out tables and chairs, as appropriate and distribute meals and serve water/milk where required.

  • Clear tables and collect rubbish, wash and stack away tables, chairs, water jugs and clean dining area as required.

  • Supervise child/ children while eating, in the playground, classrooms, corridors, cloakrooms, toilets, etc and escort child/children between premises where necessary.

  • Organise play based opportunities and supervise child/children when playing.

  • Act as a First Aider.

Teaching Assistant 1:1

(26.25 hours / week, Permanent Contract)

We are seeking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and flexible  teaching assistant, who is hardworking and energetic, and who has a good sense of humour and fun.

 

You will join a successful, supportive and friendly team of professionals in a very good school with an excellent ethos for learning. We achieve high standards in academic and personal development and our children are happy, well-motivated and enthusiastic learners.

 

Duties include:

  • Act in accordance with school policies and procedures and relevant legislation, particularly in relation to child protection and behaviour management.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of activities, and in the delivery of local and national initiatives e.g. literacy and numeracy strategy
  • Participate in the preparation of the classroom
  • Monitor children’s needs and reporting these to a designated person.
  • Have familiarity with all relevant Educational Health Care Plans specific to the child.
  • Promote development and learning (physical, emotional, educational and social). Foster growth, self-esteem and independence, observe and record development.
  • Carry out reasonable daily personal care/hygiene duties and administer basic first aid.
  • Assist with the movement of children in and around the school.
